SIGA Chipless Gaming enables electronic betting on any live table game within a casino property.

It is not intended to be used as a stand-alone betting terminal and therefore does not need licencing as such; it is used in the vicinity of a live table under the control of a dealer, with player decisions and communication with the dealer as in a normal live game, but it allows placing of wagers and receipt of payouts using any smart mobile device.

Avoiding the handling of chips and cash at the table complements the current hygiene precautions taken by casinos, giving players and dealers more confidence. Screens between dealer and player can be complete, if required, because nothing needs to be passed between player and dealer.

Payouts are also quick, accurate (may be verified by the TOM system if installed), and recorded in a database. Handling of chip floats by casino staff is also avoided. Investment in hardware is minimal; there is no custom hardware used, only inexpensive commodity electronics.

The mobile device acts as an electronic cash/chip wallet; cash can be loaded on to it by the cashier (or dealer if required) or by electronic payment. The customer sits or stands near the table they wish to play, selects the table from their device and the dealer authorises their player position using their tablet. By assigning physical dealing positions to each electronic player, the device is not a betting terminal, therefore the player must be physically near the table to communicate with the dealer.

The player places their bet, which is then locked once the dealer begins to deal (for cards) or at an automatic predetermined time in roulette. The game is played as normal, and on completion of the game, the dealer touches the payout odds for each player on the dealer’s tablet and each player receives the payout on their device.

In the case of roulette, the device calculates the payout automatically based on the winning number confirmed by the dealer and optionally read by sensors. This also vastly increases the game speed of roulette and may be an attractive option even after the present situation is over

All transactions are held in a database on a computer in the casino so if the client’s device fails for any reason or in case of a dispute, the client does not lose their credit.

The player is free to move between tables and does not need to exchange chips or cash, and can cash out at the cage or retain the credit for future visits.

We believe that offering this tool will greatly improve customers confidence during the current situation, and also that it will become a preferred permanent method of wagering in the post COVID times, by both players who have become used to wagering this way and new players who is looking make quick visits to casino properties during their limited free time during the day.
